Kaizen Engineering makes replacement wear parts to your drawing in genuine Hardox® wear plate, laser cut, folded and fabricated at our works on Thomas Street, Shaw, Oldham. Waste and recycling plants are hard on steel: abrasion, impact and, in many processes, wet and aggressive material wearing parts away. We make finished parts for that kind of duty, from a single liner for a breakdown to scheduled batches for a planned shutdown.
Using Hardox®, we have significantly increased part life for our customers in demanding waste and recycling environments. We have also supplied a national energy-from-waste (incinerator) contract with critical wear parts made in genuine Hardox® steel. Read the news story.
All made to order, to your drawing or sample:
We make finished parts only. We don’t sell sheet or plate. Across the SSAB range we make parts up to 25mm thick and up to 3000 x 1500mm per piece, and bigger liners can be split into sections.
Hardox® is SSAB’s hard, tough, abrasion-resistant wear steel. We use genuine SSAB steel and keep Hardox® in stock, which helps when you need a replacement part quickly.
SSAB lists recycling equipment among the typical uses for Hardox®, alongside hoppers, crushers, buckets and blades. For waste and recycling plants that means liners, chute parts and wear strips that stand up to abrasion and impact for longer than ordinary mild steel parts.
Tell us what the part handles, whether it runs wet or dry, and how long it lasts now. We’ll recommend a Hardox® grade and thickness and quote the finished part. See our SSAB steels page for the other grades we work with.
Every stage happens on one site in Shaw, so you deal with one supplier from drawing to finished part:
Wear steels don’t behave like mild steel in the workshop, so we work to SSAB’s published guidance on bend radii and welding. Tell us the bends you need and we’ll check them before we quote.
Recycling and waste management groups, energy-from-waste and biomass operators, OEMs and maintenance contractors. We support large organisations across the UK on a just-in-time basis, with repeat and volume orders, contract supply and parts batched around planned maintenance and shutdowns.
Independent recyclers, scrap yards, skip and plant hire firms and local fabricators. We’re happy to quote one-offs, small batches and urgent breakdown replacements. With Hardox® in stock and cutting on site, we’ll give you the quickest lead time the job allows.
We’re based in Shaw, Oldham, just off the M62. We supply wear parts to customers across Oldham, Rochdale and Greater Manchester, over the Pennines to Leeds and Sheffield, and to larger customers across the UK.

For parts that wear from abrasion and impact, such as liners, chute parts, cutting edges and wear strips, Hardox® is designed to last longer than ordinary steel. Tell us how long your current parts last and we’ll talk you through the options.
Yes. Send the drawing, or photos and dimensions of the worn part, and we’ll quote the quickest lead time we can.
