Kaizen Engineering makes replacement wear parts to your drawing in Hardox® wear steel, laser cut, folded and fabricated at our works on Thomas Street, Shaw, Oldham. Crushers, screens, buckets and loading plant take a beating from rock, aggregate, demolition waste and soil. When a part wears through, you need a replacement that fits first time, and you need it quickly. We make finished parts for that kind of duty, from a single cutting edge for a machine that’s stood idle to repeat batches for a fleet or a rebuild programme.
All made to order, to your drawing, sample or measurements:
We make finished parts only. We don’t sell sheet or plate. Across the SSAB range we make parts up to 25mm thick and up to 3000 x 1500mm per piece, and bigger liners can be split into sections.
Hardox® is SSAB’s hard, tough, abrasion-resistant steel, made in several hardness grades. We keep Hardox® in stock, which helps when a breakdown can’t wait for material to arrive. If your drawing calls for a particular grade, tell us and we’ll quote to it. If it doesn’t, tell us what the part does and we’ll talk through the options. See our SSAB steels page for the grades we work with.
Every stage happens on one site in Shaw, so you deal with one supplier from drawing to finished part:
Wear steels don’t behave like mild steel in the workshop, so we work to SSAB’s published guidance on bend radii and welding. Tell us the bends you need and we’ll check them before we quote.
Quarry and aggregates groups, plant manufacturers, crusher and screen rebuild workshops, and maintenance contractors. We can programme your parts once and cut them again to the same standard, so repeat and volume orders, rebuild kits and parts batched around planned maintenance are straightforward.
Plant hire firms, owner-operators, demolition and groundworks contractors, recyclers and local fabricators. We’re happy to quote a single cutting edge, a small batch or an urgent breakdown replacement, and we’ll give you the quickest lead time the job allows.
We’re based in Shaw, Oldham, just off the M62, with quick road links to the quarrying and plant areas of the Pennines, the Peak District, Lancashire and Yorkshire. We supply customers across Greater Manchester, over to Leeds, Sheffield and Barnsley, and larger customers across the UK.

No. We make finished, made-to-order parts to your drawing. We don’t sell full sheets or plates.
Usually, yes. Send photos and measurements of the part, or of a less-worn one from the same machine, and we’ll draw it up and confirm the dimensions with you before cutting.
Yes. We laser cut holes and slots as part of the profile, so parts arrive ready to fit to your existing fixings.
Yes. Send the parts list and drawings and we’ll quote the set. Once programmed, the same parts can be cut again for the next rebuild.
It depends on the part and how it wears. If your drawing or the machine maker specifies a grade, we’ll work to it. If not, tell us what the part handles and we can quote more than one option so you can compare.
